Beautiful Bavaria

Bavaria holds a very special place in my heart!  This picture was taken during my first trip to Germany and is a view of the scenery from Hohenschwangau Castle which is across the street from famed Neuschwanstein Castle.

This area is full of everything I love –  mountains, lakes, castles, beautiful scenery, great food, hiking opportunities and many places to rest after your day in the presence of such awesomeness!  Enjoy. . .

I love this area in Germany it’s so scenic and there’s some great hiking nearby as well too. I haven’t been to Hohenschwangau Castle yet but it’s on the list.

      Hi Laurel,
I have done a little hiking behind Neuschwanstein but that is it. I will have to look into more hiking. We did enjoy the nearby luge when we took our teenage children a few years ago. They had a blast!

  11. Very nice photo! I’ve been to Neuschwanstein two times before but only saw Hohenschwangau from a distance. That whole part of Bavaria is so gorgeous!
